Die Trying by Lee Child

This is the 2nd Of Lee Child’s Jack Reacher novels. Jack, a real macho man, is in the wrong place at the wrong time and is kidnapped along with a beautiful FBI agent with an injured knee.

The reason behind her kidnap and the story that evolves is not exactly believable, but for those that enjoy Jack Reacher novels that isn’t a problem as its Reacher’s ability to always come out on top from every situation that makes him a winner. In this book there was one section that I found was exceptionally well written and it surrounded a childhood phobia of Reacher’s and I could really feel his extreme fear and discomfort; for me it was most definitely the best part of the book. I would recommend this book to those that enjoy fast action adventure, but don’t worry about too much in depth characters.

Yes, the Reacher novels are very much ‘popcorn’ reading. Fun, but no depth.
